19 Jul Hemp House at San Diego LBGT Pride Parade
The annual San Diego Pride Parade is among the largest in the United States attracting over 100,000 spectators who all got a “dose of cannabis” this passed weekend.
In accordance with the Association of Cannabis Professionals, General Hemp, and Mankind Cooperative, Hemp Educate America Foundation celebrated San Diego LGBT Pride by showcasing a remarkable hemp house float during the parade.
“Hemp Educate America Foundation celebrated San Diego LGBT Pride by showcasing a remarkable hemp house float….”
Aligned with Pride’s celebration of diversity – the Hemp House float was the perfect attraction to highlight and entertainingly educate the public on the diversity of the cannabis plant family, which includes hemp’s ability to build homes.
The float brings awareness to Hempcrete, a bio-composite material that is naturally carbon negative, nontoxic, and flame, water and pest resistant that can be used for sustainable housing and construction. This is not the first time hempcrete has made its way into San Diego history; however, as Pride’s venue, the historic Balboa Park, had the mortar of original buildings reinforced with hemp!
